Hang Bicycles from the Ceiling
Free up even more space by hanging your bikes from your garage ceiling. To hang your bikes from the ceiling you’ll need heavy-duty bike hooks, long screws, sheet rocks, anchors and scrap plywood blocks and a few tools including a screwdriver, drill, stud finder and tape measure. Follow the instructions below to successfully hang your bikes.
- Locate the studs in your garage’s ceiling and mark with a pencil where to place the screws.
- Measure the space between your bike tires.
- Pre-drill holes in the plywood for the bike hook and for the screws to attach the wood to the ceiling/studs. This will help avoid splitting the wood.
- Once you attache the plywood in the ceiling in a few places, screw the bike hook into your pre-drilled holes.
